On March 4, 1993, Jim Valvano, former North Carolina State head basketball coach, spoke the following words at the first annual ESPY Awards

“How do you go from where you are to where you want to be?  I think you have to have an enthusiasm for life.  You have to have a dream, a goal, and you have to be willing to work for it.”

To the athletes reading this I pose this question to you, Where Do You Want To Be? Whether your aspirations are big or small, short term or long term, the destination you choose for yourself can only be obtained by having a plan and working that plan. With that in mind, how do you know you have the right plan for you?  What can you do to get better? How do you know if what you’re doing is working?  Wise Development Skills Training was started to help you answer these questions.

Wise Basketball Training is basketball training designed for players of any skill level to come to improve their ability on the court along with teaching you the knowledge to play the game from the mental side as well.  Our system focuses on the fundamental mechanics of shooting and ball handling, using Progressive Multi-Skilled Drills to achieve maximum results.  For example during a Shooting Session, all athletes must start with Form/Stationary Shooting and progress through the levels.

Shooting Session Levels:

Form Shooting

Stationary Shooting

Shooting off the Dribble

Transition Shooting

Shooting off of Screens

Shooting in live Game Situations

Customized & Specialty Shooting

We are adept at analyzing and adjusting players shooting mechanics as well as making them better ball handlers through player evaluations, utilizing videotaped sessions to track player progress and making adjustments as needed.  Some players may cover multiple levels in their first session while others may only progress through one level.  No matter what skill level you start at, our instructors can create a Personalized Development Plan for you.

Take a look for yourself, we have posted some of the multi-skilled videos on our Facebook and Instagram pages and feel free to contact us with any questions.  Our Instructors provide e-mail support during training periods to answer questions and offer advice. We look forward to making you a better skilled and Wise Player!
